Chiefs OL Trey Smith is NFL's second-best run blocker since Week 7, per PFF

This veteran guard has become a major fan favorite of the Kansas City Chiefs offense for which he joined as a sixth-round draft pick back in 2021.He has aided in keeping Patrick Mahomes on his feet this season as far as pass protection is concerned. Without him, the Chiefs would not have been able to create opportunities for Isiah Pacheco or Clyde Edwards-Helaire to penetrate defenses while running.

It is evident that the few remaining games in the 2023 season for Missouri’s Chiefs will require critical contributions from Smith if they are to reach the championship.

The third-year guard has been NFL’s second-best run-blocking grade of any guards in the league since week 7.

However, if Smith maintains a high level of performance at the start, Reid Pacheco and Edwards-Helaire might support Kansas City with the number one position in the AFC playoff.1 playoff seed.
