How many games will the New Orleans Saints win this season?
The fans of the New Orleans Saints got their first dose of winning football this year at the weekend. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler played in the last drive that helped the visitors edge the Arizona Cardinals, 16-14, the outplaying taking place in the desert. Dennis Allen and Co. Surely it was a preseason match, but everyone connected with the Broncos must hope that it is the first of many triumphs in 2012.

A lot of questions were posed and answered during the first match of the Saints’ season. Nevertheless, hopes and calls for the respective potential and performance of the Black and Gold this year do go on. The sportsbooks have been unbudging in their positions, so what number of victories does the oddsmaker envision in New Orleans?
New Orleans Saints 2024/25 win total number of games prediction, line.
The over/under bet for the game is set at 7 in favour of the Saints. The final five successes are published on DraftKings Sportsbook. The over is juiced to -120 because New Orleans has not topped seven victories since the 2005 season. For the under, interested bettors can take this at 1.
Those lines have not been altered since the release of the 2024/25 NFL calendar in May this year. As the market has little predilection for putting futures on the Saints, which remains one of the main rationales that those numbers have remained so rock hard.
Another is New Orleans’ much more challenging schedule this year. The Saints won nine games last year with one of the easiest slates they have ever had to play through. They will not be pampered in that regard this season, not in the first part of it anyway.
New Orleans, however, starts at home against the NFL’s worst team of the previous season: the Carolina Panthers. It then goes to Dallas (A), Philadelphia (H), Atlanta (A), Kansas City (A) and Tampa Bay (H) in the subsequent five weeks.
As a rule, a team cannot afford to begin a season slowly and still make the NFL Playoffs, so coming out of the gate fast will be a major concern for the Saints. It is in the middle of the above schedule that Allen’s men should be in a position to post some victories enough to take them over in the winning tally.
Needless to say, it is much easier to say than to do so, particularly with some question marks remaining on the unit of the offensive line and on some of the key players who could be having their injury-related issues. Given my initial forecast that New Orleans is projected to post a 7-10 win-loss record, my hunch is that the Saints will be the next team to go under.
If, for example, you wish to bet for the over and support the Saints, you’d surely get a good line only after the team suffers some losses in early games. The win total or the odds at over/under 7 in Indianapolis for a home game. 5 should drop in that case. It is difficult to find better value at the moment at even money if one expects them to end up with less than eight victories, though.
